Teachers’ Day – Celebrating the Spirit of Akshara

“A school is not defined by its buildings alone, but by the people who fill its spaces with purpose.” This spirit beautifully defined the Teachers’ Day celebration at Akshara International School, which brought together the school community in an atmosphere of joy, gratitude and appreciation.

The celebration began with a vibrant cultural programme presented by the Senior Secondary students as a heartfelt expression of love and gratitude towards their teachers. The celebrations were made even more enjoyable with a series of fun games for the teachers, creating moments of laughter, camaraderie and togetherness before the formal ceremony began.
Following the cultural programme and student dispersal, the Staff Felicitation Ceremony commenced with addresses by the school leadership. The ceremony celebrated the diverse contributions of the Akshara family through Class Representative Appreciation Awards, Special Recognition Awards and Excellence Awards, acknowledging teachers for their dedication to academics, co-curricular activities, innovation, STEM, environmental initiatives, examinations and several other areas of school life.
The NABET Achievers’ Awards were a significant highlight of the ceremony. The category recognised the people who contribute to strengthening the school’s academic processes, safety, examinations, teaching-learning practices and quality systems. Principal Dr. Mrudula Mahajan was felicitated under the NABET category for her contribution to Academic Coordination and leadership in strengthening the school’s academic systems.

The ceremony also acknowledged the team behind the Nurtury Block, recognising the dedicated efforts that went into creating and shaping this new space for young learners. Mr. Sanjay Zendge and Mr. Rohit Wagh were appreciated for their contributions to bringing the Nurtury Block to life.

Another memorable moment was the presentation of the Long Service Awards, honouring members of the Akshara family for five and ten years of dedicated service. These recognitions celebrated not merely the passage of time, but years of commitment, growth and contribution to the institution.
The celebration was ultimately a tribute to the people who make Akshara what it is—teachers who inspire in classrooms, educators who lead beyond them, and staff members whose invaluable efforts often remain behind the scenes. It was a day to pause, appreciate and celebrate the collective spirit that continues to shape the Akshara journey.

Teachers’ Day at Akshara was not just a celebration of teachers; it was a celebration of dedication, teamwork, belonging and the shared purpose of nurturing young minds.
