I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in science in the US. I moved to India from the US when I was in Grade 4 and studied at Akshara till Grade 11. Moving to a new country is super challenging and Akshara provided me with a social environment to make this transition smooth. It was like a second home to me- the friends I made and the guidance that I received from my teachers became the center of my experience there.

The first couple tests I took I ended up failing and I had resigned that it would be something that I would not be able to learn. However, my teacher noticed this and worked really hard with me. She spent some of her after school hours with me. Thanks to her I can speak Hindi and ended up doing well in the subject.

I returned back to the US in 2019 and feel that Akshara not only gave me a strong foundation for higher studies but also developed me as a mature holistic individual. I feel indebted to my teachers and fellow students at Akshara for the same.
