After School Activities:
As part of the integrated curriculum, Akshara focuses on Sports and Hobbies for the holistic development of the child. Children are given the opportunity to learn fun hobbies that enliven their imaginations and stimulate their artistic abilities. They also get specialized training in sports for the development of mental health and physical fitness of the body.
Hobby Activities:
Hobby activities are conducted from Monday to Friday between 3.00 pm and 4.30 pm. The students can opt for any one of the following activities:

Akshara’s Tabla Course immerses students in the rhythmic art of Indian classical music, guided by expert instructors. Inspired by achievements like the 100% pass rate in Gandharva Mahavidyalaya exams and performances on Pune Akashvani’s “Ghammat Jammat” students excel as percussionists. This vibrant platform empowers aspiring musicians to shine and connect through rhythmic storytelling.

Akshara’s Guitar Course invites students to master chords, melodies, and genres like classical, rock, and acoustic through expert-led lessons. Students develop technical skills and musical creativity, preparing for dynamic performances at annual concerts and school events. Many have earned accolades, including awards for Best Guitarist and Best Keyboardist at events like Battle of Bands and Night of Bands. This vibrant course fosters confidence, teamwork, and artistic expression, empowering aspiring musicians to excel and shine on stage.

Western and Classical VocalClass
The Akshara Vocal Program offers comprehensive training in both Western and Classical styles. In the Western Vocal Course, students explore pop, jazz, and musical theater, developing pitch, tone, and expression for captivating performances. The Classical Vocal Course immerses students in Indian classical music, teaching ragas, taals, and traditional techniques that foster discipline and cultural depth. Both courses provide expert guidance, build confidence, and prepare students for soul-stirring performances at school events and concerts. Whether mastering contemporary or classical genres, Akshara nurtures artistry, expression, and a lifelong connection to music in every aspiring vocalist.
Keyboard Class
Akshara’s Keyboard Course offers students a dynamic foundation in keyboard playing, exploring classical, pop, and jazz styles. Through structured lessons, students learn chords, scales, and improvisation, fostering musical creativity. The course prepares students for captivating performances at school concerts and events, building confidence and technical prowess. Run in association with Torrins India, Akshara’s music program has achieved remarkable success, including winning the national title at the Battle of the Bands, where their band Zenith impressed thousands. Notably, Ritwik Singh received the Best Keyboardist award in Season 5, showcasing exceptional talent nurtured here.
DanceClass
Akshara’s Dance Course offers holistic dance training for students in classical, contemporary, and folk dance styles, led by trained professional dance instructors. Enhancing this experience, we offer a special Kathak dance program in collaboration with Nadroop, a premier Kathak institute known for its excellence in classical dance education. This unique partnership allows students to learn from experts, blending traditional techniques with modern choreography. With a focus on expression, technique, and stage performance, the course builds confidence, creativity, and grace. Students showcase their talent in annual concerts and school events, making Akshara a leading destination for quality dance education.
Art & Craft
Akshara’s Art Course follows the CBSE Art Education curriculum and offers students creative exploration through drawing, painting, and mixed media. Led by trained professional art instructors, students learn essential techniques, color theory, and self-expression. The program provides focused mentorship for the Elementary and Intermediate Drawing Exams conducted by the Government of Maharashtra, where Akshara students consistently excel. It also prepares students for inter-school art competitions, building confidence, creativity, and presentation skills. Integrated into the school’s acclaimed Visual & Performing Arts (VPA) program, the course nurtures young artists to develop their vision and showcase talent through exhibitions and platforms.
TheatreClass
Akshara International School, Pune, features a dynamic theatre and performing arts program within its holistic Visual & Performing Arts (VPA) curriculum. In addition to skilled professional instructors for day school, the program is run in collaboration with SOPA (School of Performing Arts) through the AIS Beyond School Activity program. Students gain hands-on experience in scriptwriting, stagecraft, acting, costume design, and lighting, preparing for annual cultural productions and the signature Athenaeum cultural extravaganza.
