As the Indians set out to abide by the civic duty and decide in whose capable hands they would entrust the running of the country, Aksharites weren’t left far behind. The students voted for the vice-captain and captain of the school in an electronically conducted poll on April 23, 2019.
The election process provided a whole new experience to the students as they cast their votes using the Akshara Electronic Voting Machines (AEVM) for the first time. The electronic voting was possible only due to the effort of Sankalp Bhamare of class XII, who developed unique software for the purpose. The software was designed in such a way that the voter, after verifying his/her personal details, could choose their desired candidate from the list of candidates whose names and photos were displayed.
The EVS system used technologies like Node.JS , MySql to create a simple web interface that can be easily operated even by a 6th grader. Akshara International School tested this system for the first time, proving the effectiveness and usability of the system.
The students were thrilled to vote through this extraordinary innovation and proudly showed their inked finger as they cast their vote for the worthy candidate.
Akshara family is proud of this young prodigy, and wishing him the very best !
