Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is an integral part of Akshara curriculum. In this age of Computer Technology, an early exposure to the basics of computer, readies the child for the future and also helps the child to overcome any inhibitions they might have towards computer usage.
The school has a policy of one computer per child and the school computer lab is adequately equipped for the same. Internet connectivity is provided to the students, teachers and staff in the adjacent Internet lab. Teachers assist children in seeking out information, creating multimedia content, collaborating on project work and presenting the knowledge gathered from multiple sources.
In line with the philosophy of experiential learning, Akshara provides a well equipped Mathematics Lab to enhance the understanding of the subject by practical means.
The lab enables the teacher to demonstrate and explain mathematical ideas by using concrete objects, models, charts, graphs and pictures.
Through these multiple teaching and learning aids the student explore mathematical concepts and verify facts and theorems through a variety of activities. This builds student interest and confidence in the subject and removes fear.
At Akshara, the Origami hobby is leveraged by the Mathematics teacher for making the models to explain the concepts of surface area and volume for various geometrical shapes and related theorems.
The school has well-designed separate science labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology Labs, which are fully equipped as per the guidelines laid by CBSE.
These Labs facilitate firsthand experience of learning different concepts of science & develop scientific reasoning through experiments. This is in line with our philosophy of learning by doing.
